Hacking the Humanities

Hacking the Humanities

I took Hacking the Humanities my senior winter, which is one of the core courses for the DGAH minor. I had wanted to take it for a few years, but never managed to when course registration came around. The course covered a variety of digital tools and topics such as GIS, SketchUp, and various data analysis and visualization tools, as well what makes a good Digital Humanities project like open sourcing, public participation, and more. My final project was working with a group to visualize how many classes in the last 20 years at Carleton had been co-taught, and seeing which departments collaborated the most frequently.
